I’ve got nothing!

Hello Dear Readers!

Just like the title says, “I have nothing of great importance” to tell you about.

Nothing earth shattering happened over the weekend.  Even though I’m known for awkward situations, nothing like that happened.

Oh no!!! Does that mean I’m becoming normal!?! I can’t be normal! That just isn’t me!

There has got to be something I can tell you all about. Hmm…let’s see…

I worked Saturday until 615pm, I did a Zumba exercise DVD with a friend. On Sunday I taught kids from 830am till 1245pm at church then had lunch with some friends. After lunch I went home and passed out from exhaustion/overeating. I didn’t come to until after 9pm!

OMGoodness! I really didn’t do anything this weekend!!! Oh well. At least I’m still alive to breathe another day.

Make sure you go to my: Clean Romance Book Review Blog to enter for a free book from last weeks interview with Bonnie Blythe. Entries must be in by 11:59pm Tuesday, February 26, 2013!

Have a great day and I’ll see you later!

A Dying Breed?

Hello Dear Readers!

Have you ever felt like you are the last of a dying breed?  Recently, that is something I thought I was experiencing.

What dying breed could that possibly be you may ask?

I was starting to think that I was the last of the True Romantics! You know the kind that thinks spending time talking to a person is more important than trying to get into bed with them.  I mean maybe I’m crazy but, I need to know I can stand spending time with you before I can think about doing anything physically with you.

Maybe it’s just my Christianity showing but, even during my secular days I couldn’t see how trying to get me into bed was going to make me like you any more than if we just talked. Sex only lasts for so long, then where do you go from there? I mean just because I might like a part of your anatomy doesn’t mean I like what it’s attached to. When it’s all said and done, the whole experience is just a colossal waste of both yours and my time. (Oh yeah, I went there.) 😉

Well, wonder of wonders, after starting my book review blog, I met some wonderful authors and bloggers that have shown me I am not the total end of this breed!  In fact, they have started a series of blog hopping tours and I was invited to participate.

So I’d like to invite all of you to click on the link below and check out Candle Light Reads “Home is where the heart is” Blog Hop.

There are many opportunities to win prizes at many of the blogs as well as a grand prize of a $40 gift card to the eBookstore of your choice!

Also please make sure you swing by my review blog Cause Everyone Needs Romance and enter to win a copy of this weeks featured author Kristy K. James’ book:

Out Emerges the Butterfly!

Hello Dear Readers!

So little known fact. I have not been on an actual date since just before I turned 30. Since I am now 34, that means it’s been about 4 years since I’ve been on a date.

Don’t be sad for me. I assure you this has been self instituted.  I just haven’t had a huge desire to open up and encourage the opposite sex. I know that sounds so self-righteous doesn’t it? I promise you that isn’t my intention. Part of me needed to do some growing up. I wasn’t happy with me and what I had to offer.

As the old adage goes, “If I’m not happy with me, how can I expect anyone else to be happy with me.”

Basically I’m telling you all this because, even though I’m no where close to perfect (and never will be), I have come to the conclusion that I am open to the possibility of letting someone into my life now.

I can honestly say that I am happy with a lot of things in my life now.  I feel like I’ve come into my own now.

So here’s a question I’d like to pose to all of you?

How does one re-emerge into the “Dating Scene” these days?

I don’t go to clubs and that was never an option even before I went on my hiatus. Even though Augusta is the second largest city in Georgia, we don’t have a lot of the amenities of the urban mecca of Atlanta.

What are your thoughts Readers?

Please comment and let me know your suggestions.

P.S.- Don’t forget to check out this Wednesday’s Book Review Post where I will be interviewing Independent Author Kristy K. James on her newest book release A Harry Situation. I hear she’s giving away prizes?

Starting a New Page

Hello Readers!

So during my hiatus I did some brainstorming for the blog, (just because I wasn’t posting doesn’t mean you all weren’t far from my thoughts), and came up with a new page idea.

However, for this idea I need some input from all of you.  My page idea…Are you ready? Wait for it…Modern Dating with Biblical Principles!

What I need from all of you is very simple. I want your concerns, issues, solutions! Are there any experts you’d like to hear from? What trends are you noticing that concern you?

Basically I want to have an open dialogue with all of you about dating, relationships, and how we can apply the bible to our everyday lives in the dating world of today.

So please leave comments here or email me at shinekar79@gmail.com Hopefully with enough research and input we can get this weekly page up and running by next month!

I hope to hear from you soon!

Introducing my New Blog!

Hello Dear Readers!

I promise that I have finally gotten my act together and will try not to abandon you like did over the last few months.

As I alluded to in last Monday’s Blog I am starting a new blog that will review Christian and Clean Romance Novels starting this Wednesday.  I mostly want to concentrate on independent writers but I will more than likely also do a few that are backed by publishing houses as well.

Why am I doing this you may ask? To be honest, ever since I got my Kindle two Christmases ago I have found writers that I never even knew existed and would probably still not know of them to this day.  So I want to use my big mouth for good and try to help these wonderful writers to meet new audiences.

The reviews will be once a week and some of them will have interviews with the writers. There may even be a few guest spots from them in the future posts as well. Who knows, there may even be a few giveaways!

I’m so excited about this new blog! Oh wait I forgot to tell you the name of it! Silly me.

The name of the new blog is Cause Everyone Needs Romance! http://wp.me/P37J52-1

So look out for the first post this Wednesday where I will be reviewing A Christian Cougar by Vanessa Gray Bartal
